In these weekly workshops we will cover a large number of concepts and skills required to begin making your own electronic circuits and microcontroller based projects.
We will use breadboard circuit design methods along with commonly available microprocessor platforms to build devices from scratch. Students will develop core knowledge in programming microprocessors to control other devices that are also commonly available as well as methods for making realworld sensors and communicating between devices.
IoT, ROBOTICS, ELECTRONIC MUSIC & AUDIO, ELECTRONIC GAMES, HUMAN INTERFACES, AUTOMATION & SECURITY, COMMUNICATIONS
This is ideally suited for anyone keen on starting out or developing existing skills in making electronic devices for personal use or working towards commercial development of a great idea.
Some of the topics covered include:
- Controlling Motors, Servos and Steppers.
- IR, Laser, Ambient Light, Ultrasonic Sensing.
- Switches, Buttons and Displays.
- Data Capture, I2C, and TCP/IP Communications.
- Microcontroller architecture, TTL Logic, Binary Math, Power Fundamentals.
- C++ Microcontroller Programming (from beginner to intermediate level).
- Lab Safety and Protocols
All parts and tools are supplied for experiments however the workshop cost does not include parts for personal projects to take home. Most parts can be purchased rom SkillTree during the time of the workshop depending on the individual needs of the student.
AGE REQUIREMENT: 12+ (ADULTS AND ADULTS WITH KIDS WELCOME)
COST: $40 inc. G.S.T. per session
TIMING: 4pm to 7pm each Wednesday
