PROP BUILDING – Term 1 – 2018
Mondays 10 am-Noon – Maximum 16 Students – Ages 12 and Up
Our home school props building programme meets once a week for 10 weeks with a variety of projects to ensure the students have a broad understanding of prop building for film, television or commercials.
Each week the students will also learn basics of prop building with a focus on working with a variety of materials to create safe but realistic weapons, armor, miniatures, and other props. We will also cover casting, sculpting, and foam fabrication. The sessions are 2 hours each Monday and will run the entirety of Term 1 which runs from January 29th until April 9th. These classes are held at our Hamilton location, which is located at 29 Gilchrist Street, Block D, Avalon, Hamilton, 3288.
Students can register at any time for a prorated cost $35 per session or $350 for the full term. All prices are GST inclusive.
Materials will vary per class and a health and safety briefing will be held to ensure everyone understands how to work with the tools and materials. Common items used are utility knives, rotary tools, sanding machines, contact cement, EVA foam, and other hard and soft materials.
